Chile cornis dropChile heli

method with heli

This day was one to remember. We were running out of light so we were doing quick bumps up in the bird with no door, no seat belt and no landing. The heli would hover nose in to the steep mountain from about 6 feet above the ground and we would jump from the open door trying not shake the bird. I looked over at one point and saw the blades a foot or two from the snow. I have never been in another bird where the pilot would even consider doing a maneuver like that. Wild cowboys (I mean pilots) in New Zealand.
